Marcus Weir has lived a life of variety. Thus far, in his more than 30 years of wanderings, he's made his way across the United States of America, trying many different things along the way.
He plans to do more traveling, meet more people and live in other areas. Along the way he sometimes writes about these experiences or rants and raves about one obsession or another.

A few notes from the writer:
Most of my entries are restricted to "Friends Only" but I'm beginning to open them up a little more again. Admittance to the more personal posts may be provided upon request.
I can also be found on Facebook and sometimes I twitter. If you're interested, you can find me on both by searching for Marcus Weir. Yes, it is Weir and not "Weirman." I'm not sure why I went with Weirman for the name of this journal anymore. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
For those who care, I don't subscribe to any organized religion and prefer to consider myself more agnostic than atheist. I'm mostly liberal, support equal rights for all people regardless of sexual orientation, race, sex, or background, believe in universal health care for everyone and a genuine separation of church and state.
I study history for fun, enjoy tabletop rpgs when I can find a compatible group to play with and love to travel more than just about anything else. I really like cold weather and snow, hate global warming and prefer a mountainous region. It's my sincere hope that someday I'll live in the Scottish Highlands, France and Italy.
My favorite thing about Livejournal is meeting new people and gaining an insight into other lives. Sometimes I go on a random hunt for more journals to read from people who are having unique experiences in unique (to me) places. So if you're wondering why I suddenly added you it's likely a combination of interest in your location and an appreciation for your writing.
--- Better Words Than My Own ---
People do not like to think. If one thinks, one must reach conclusions. Conclusions are not always pleasant.

History is the polemics of the victor.
- William F. Buckley, Jr.
If you don't have the time to read, you don't have the time or the tools to write.
- Stephen King, On Writing
The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie -- deliberate, contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.
- John F. Kennedy
Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the president.
- Theodore Roosevelt
Most people are bothered by those passages of Scripture they do not understand, but the passages that bother me are those I do understand.
- Mark Twain
As long as you are convinced you have never done anything, you can never do anything.
- Malcolm X
Talent hits a target no one else can hit; Genius hits a target no one else can see.
